Work on the project began in May 2010. The plan involved relocating the Ukrainian school partially under the Cathedral and also sharing space with the Day Care Centre in the former school for the extra classes.

The Cathedral basement campus work is now almost complete. Work will soon start on the main building where the current school is located. The finished project will see 36% more space for the school and children will be able to share the new play grounds and other facilities which are also being developed. There will be two new kitchens with dishwashers etc. A new elevator will transport people to the first floor of the parish hall, a café lounge will be added and “Gigzy’s” shop will have a new permanent home in the hall.

Work on this $2,500,000 (two and a half million dollar) project should be completed by the end of this year. The Eparchial website will keep you informed on the progress of the work.

The 2011 school year should be held in the new premises. St Catherine’s Day Care will start at about the same time.
