Reflection of the Week

For Sunday 12.9.10
In today's epistle we see a very contemporary admonition by St Paul. He tells the people not to take their Christianity for granted. He tells implores them, not to lose the faith. They are told to persevere in times of hardship. Patience is a really important virtue. Yes, it is possible to lose the faith. Not to worship as a family in Church on Sunday is not good, especially if we replace worship with sport or recreation. A basic sense of integrity and truth in our lives is what will bring contentment. Essentially these admonitions given to people some 2,000 years ago are still very important today. Take a little time to pick up a bible this week, read the epistle and ask ourselves a question. Is St Paul speaking to me? St Paul's life reflected Jesus', does ours? Do we have our priorities right?
